Leo Pum is a contemporary artist renowned for his exploration of complex themes that intertwine nature, metaphysics, and human-environment interaction. His work spans a diverse range of projects, including “MANTI-CORE,” “SYGALDRY,” “AGRIMENSIONS,” “GAIA,” and “METAORITES,” each demonstrating his multifaceted approach to art and offering viewers an immersive and reflective experience.
Leandro Mora was born and raised in an environment that fostered creativity and a deep connection with nature. From a young age, he showed an inclination towards art, influenced by the natural landscapes surrounding him and his early encounters with various artistic mediums. His formal education in fine arts further honed his skills, enabling him to develop a unique artistic voice that blends traditional techniques with modern technology and scientific inquiry.

MANTI-CORE is one of Leo Pum’s most dynamic installations, created in collaboration with RIIIM (@riiim.riiim.riiim) and Carlos Saez (@carlossaez1). This project, part of the “Miss Espacial” event, uses the structure of an obsolete vehicle as its foundation. The installation evolves with live interventions throughout the event, adapting to the performances and transforming the space into a lively, changing chimeric scenography. The highlight of the installation is the live performance “Viscera,” where parts of the vehicle are excavated in a ritualistic manner, accompanied by ambient sounds created from the tools used during the performance.

Metageological Extraction is an installation that dialogues about METAGEOLOGY, research addressing the digital archive’s materiality and its Anthropozoic repercussions. Some processes of virtualization and “physicalization” of the environment through digital media are observed in it. Thus, we see a 3D printer that transforms the very nature of geological elements, the information collected now becomes rock. A practice that allows us to contemplate and speculate about the stages of accelerated landscape stratification. (https://leopum.com/yacimientometageologico/)

SYGALDRY I is a compelling exhibition presenting a technological and nature-based alchemy. It features “living machines” and mechanical prototypes, combining electronic symbology with geological elements. This installation symbolizes a deep interconnection between modern technology and ancient natural processes, transforming rocks and machines into a narrative about the Anthropocene’s impact. Drawing inspiration from historical and mythical sources, SYGALDRY I creates a vivid blend of art and science.

AGRIMENSIONS investigates the intersection of agriculture and dimensionality, reflecting on human interaction with the earth. This project explores how agricultural practices shape landscapes and influence ecological balances. By merging abstract art forms with tangible agricultural themes, Leo Pum encourages viewers to reflect on the impact of human activity on the natural world and consider more sustainable practices.
In GAIA, (collaboration with the architect Fran Toré @frantoré_) Leo Pum pays homage to Earth, merging ecological concerns with aesthetic expression. This project reflects on the planet’s fragility and the urgent need for environmental stewardship. Through his art, Leo Pum emphasizes the interconnectedness of all life forms and the responsibility humans have to protect and preserve the natural world. “GAIA” serves as a powerful reminder of the beauty and vulnerability of our planet.

METAORITES interprets celestial phenomena through a metaphysical lens, exploring the mysteries of the cosmos and humanity’s place within it. By examining meteorites and other celestial bodies, Leo Pum delves into the metaphysical implications of these cosmic elements, inviting viewers to contemplate the universe’s vastness and the intricate connections between the celestial and the terrestrial.
